According to Nick Carter’s attorney, Liane K. Wakayama, Melissa Schuman has been making false allegations against the Backstreet Boys singer for many years. In fact, a judge in Nevada recently ruled in favor of Carter, stating that there are strong grounds for him to proceed with his lawsuit against Schuman. Carter accuses Schuman of plotting to damage, defame, and extort him, his associates, friends, and family.

Schuman is now taking Carter to court, claiming that he sexually assaulted her in 2002 in Santa Monica when she was 18 and he was 22. She alleges that he forcibly performed oral sex on her and made her do the same to him, and then took her virginity despite her telling him she was saving herself for marriage.

Schuman initially filed a police report in 2017, seeking criminal charges against Carter, but the D.A.’s office declined to prosecute. Now, Schuman believes that a new bill amending the statute of limitations for civil actions revives her claim, and she is seeking justice in court.

Nick Carter denies all of Schuman’s allegations and has sued her for $2.3 million, claiming that she has been attempting to extort money from him for years. This lawsuit is part of his ongoing litigation against Shannon Ruth, who has also accused Carter of sexual assault on a tour bus. Despite Schuman’s recent legal action, Carter remains determined to hold her and her co-conspirators accountable for the pain and suffering they have caused.
