Production has resumed for the second season of the hit HBO fantasy series, House of the Dragon, at Leavesden Studios in the United Kingdom.

Showrunner Ryan Condal is excited to be working with both the original cast and new talent, including executive producer and Emmy-winning director Alan Taylor.
Taylor, who worked on Game of Thrones, was brought on board after Miguel Sapochnik, co-showrunner and director of House of the Dragon season one, stepped down. While there is no official release date for the second season, the show is expected to return in 2024.
The first season of the show, which is based on George R.R. Martin’s book Fire & Blood and set 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones, drew an average of 29 million viewers per episode.
The cast for season two includes Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, Emma D’Arcy, Eve Best, Steve Toussaint, Fabien Frankel, Ewan Mitchell, Tom Glynn-Carney, Sonoya Mizuno, and Rhys Ifans, as well as returning actors Harry Collett, Bethany Antonia, Phoebe Campbell, Phia Saban, Jefferson Hall, and Matthew Needham.
The production is also offering a shadowing and mentorship program for production trainees called the WBD Access Directors Shadows, which will allow two emerging directors to learn from the show’s experienced crew.
