Gangnam Police Station officials reported that they believe the star took his own life, and no signs of foul play have been discovered in relation to the case. Fans of the artist took to social media to express their condolences, with the hashtag #moonbin trending worldwide with over 2.6 million tweets in various languages, including English, Spanish, Indonesian, Tagalog, and Thai.
In its statement, Fantagio expressed its deep sorrow, calling the bereavement of Moon Bin’s family “incomparable.” The label also asked for respect and privacy during this difficult time, urging people to “refrain from speculative and malicious reports.”
Moon Bin made his debut with Astro in 2016, and he also performed as part of a subgroup called Moon Bin & Sanha, which recently toured in Asia. He was set to perform with Sanha in Busan and Jakarta in the coming weeks.
Before joining Astro, Moon Bin had a career as a child actor, with his debut in the Korean Broadcasting System TV drama “Boys Over Flowers” in 2009. The series gained popularity globally, and Moon Bin became a beloved figure in Southeast Asia.
