Country music star Morgan Wallen is back on stage after a six-week hiatus due to vocal rest. The 30-year-old singer performed to sold-out crowds in Chicago on Thursday and Friday.
Wallen announced the hiatus on May 9, saying that he had been advised by doctors to rest his voice in order to avoid permanent damage. He had previously taken a 10-day break in April after losing his voice, but returned to the stage too soon and re-injured his vocal cords.
The “Last Night” singer’s hiatus was not without its challenges. Just last week, his son Indigo was taken to the hospital after being bitten by a dog. Wallen’s ex-fiancée KT Smith shared on her Instagram Stories that her dog, an adopted Great Pyrenees named Legend, had bitten her son in the face.
Despite the challenges, Wallen seems to be back in good form. He took to Instagram to thank his fans in Chicago for the “incredible couple of nights” and said that he could “still feel the energy today.”
Wallen is scheduled to continue his One Night At A Time world tour throughout the summer. He has also been nominated for several awards, including Male Artist of the Year at the 2023 CMA Awards.
