Pregnant influencer Jackie Miller James has made progress in her recovery after being placed in a medically induced coma while being treated for an aneurysm.
The 35-year-old influencer was in a coma for several weeks after suffering the aneurysm while 39 weeks pregnant with her first child. She was eventually woken up from the coma and transferred to a neurological rehabilitation hospital.
Her family shared an update on her condition on Sunday, saying that she is “performing above expectations” and “progressing more with every passing day.”
The baby, a girl, was delivered by C-section while James was in a coma. She was hospitalized in the neonatal intensive care unit for 12 days and is doing well.
James’ family said that she has been reunited with her baby and is spending a great deal of time with her family while in the hospital.
They added that while James is making progress, she has a long road to recovery ahead of her.
James is a social media beauty influencer with over 27,000 followers on Instagram. She has been sharing her pregnancy journey with her followers, giving frequent updates on her daily routines, skin care, and symptoms.
Before becoming a full-time influencer, James worked for a plastic surgeon in Beverly Hills for six years. She also spent five years living in New York as a backup dancer for all different kinds of artists.
Her family has set up a GoFundMe page to help with her medical expenses. The page has raised over $100,000.
