Emily Blunt Takes Break from Acting to Focus on Family

Emily Blunt is taking a break from acting to focus on her family. The actress, who stars in the upcoming film “Oppenheimer,” said she needs to be there for her daughters, Hazel and Violet, who are 9 and 6 years old, respectively.

“This year, I’m not working,” Blunt said on iHeart’s “Table For Two with Bruce Bozzi” podcast. “I worked quite a bit last year and my oldest baby is nine, so we’re in the last year of single digits.”

Blunt said that she feels there are “cornerstones to their day that are so important when they’re little” and that she needs to be there for them. She also said that there is a great “emotional cost” to her and the kids when she takes on time-consuming projects.

“I’m very prone to guilt,” Blunt said. “I think maybe all mothers are. You’re just prone to feeling bad for, God forbid, wanting something outside of being a mother.”

Blunt is not the only actress who has spoken out about the challenges of balancing work and family. In recent years, there has been a growing conversation about the lack of female representation in Hollywood and the challenges that women face in the industry.

Blunt’s decision to take a break from acting is a reminder that family is important to her and that she is willing to put her career on hold to be there for her daughters. It is also a reminder of the challenges that women face in Hollywood and the need for more support for working mothers.

In addition to her concerns about the industry, Blunt also said that she does not want her daughters to follow in her footsteps and become actresses. She said that the industry can be “very disappointing” for women and that she would rather her daughters pursue other dreams.

“My toes curl when people tell me, ‘My daughter wants to be an actress,'” Blunt said. “I want to say, ‘don’t do it.'”

Blunt’s decision to take a break from acting and her comments about the industry are sure to spark a conversation about the challenges that women face in Hollywood and the need for more support for working mothers.
