Jamie Lee Curtis is celebrating the arrival of her “movie grandchild” after Lindsay Lohan gave birth to her first child.
Lohan, 37, and her husband Bader Shammas welcomed a son named Luai on Sunday, July 17. The news was confirmed by Lohan’s rep to Page Six.
Curtis, who played Lohan’s mother in the 2003 film “Freaky Friday,” took to Instagram to share her excitement.
“MAGIC MONDAY! My movie daughter just made me a movie grandmother,” she wrote. “Blessings to Lindsay and Bader for the birth of Luai! @lindsaylohan.”
Curtis previously shared her excitement over Lohan’s pregnancy news in April, when she posted a photo of Lohan at her baby shower.
“My friend and film daughter @lindsaylohan is growing up! So thrilled for her. What a mama she will be,” she wrote.
Luai is an Arabic name that means “shield” or “protector.” He is the first child for Lohan and Shammas, who married in secret in April 2022.
Lohan has been open about her desire to have children, and she told Interview magazine in November 2022 that she and Shammas had “talked” about living in Dubai as parents.
“It’s so safe there, and the schools are great. It’s so detached from everything that I’m used to. … It’s nice to have a separate world that’s my own,” she said.
We wish Lindsay and Bader all the best with their new arrival!
