Lady Violet Manners, the daughter of the Duke and Duchess of Rutland and executive producer of the podcast “Duchess The Podcast,” has praised Prince William and Kate Middleton for their work in preserving royal traditions and giving a glimpse into the monarchy’s future.
“We’re so lucky to have such an extraordinary family,” Manners told Fox News Digital. “I think the Princess of Wales is a real hero of mine. I think the work that she and the Prince of Wales do for all the charities that they are involved with is extraordinary. We’re very lucky to have them in this country. I think they’re remarkable in truth. They work incredibly hard for the charities and organizations that they are involved with.”
Manners said that she believes William and Kate are embodying the values of the monarchy and are doing a great job of representing the country. She also said that she would love to have Kate on her podcast as a guest.
“I think they’ll be extraordinary when they do become king and queen,” she said.
Manners herself is no stranger to royal tradition. She grew up in Belvoir Castle, a stately home in Leicestershire, England. Her family has owned the castle for over 900 years.
Manners said that she wanted to create “Duchess The Podcast” to share the stories of other women who are custodians of historic homes in the UK. She said that she hopes the podcast will help to change the narrative around these homes and show that they are more than just places for tourists to visit.
“I wanted to change the narrative around historic homes,” she said. “I think the wonderful period dramas that we all love to watch … paint a picture of living in heritage that’s set in a very different time. The reality is it’s a lot of work. And there is no government support or funding, and nor should there be. So, it does require an enormous amount of upkeep and innovation.”
Manners said that she is proud of the work that she and her family do to maintain Belvoir Castle and that she is committed to preserving its history for future generations.
“I’ve had an incredible life,” she said. “I now want to shine a spotlight on the many people who have dedicated their lives to working in these places.”
The new series of “Duchess The Podcast” will launch on August 17th and will feature custodians of historic homes presenting individual episodes. The first guest is the Countess of Derby.
