HunterGirl Releases Personal Song About Doubts Before American Idol Audition

HunterGirl, who finished second on American Idol’s 20th season, has released a new song called “Ain’t About You.” The song, which she wrote the week before her audition, is about the doubts she had about her singing career.

“A couple of years ago, nothing was really working out for me in Nashville,” Hunter told HollywoodLife. “A couple of my friends were getting deals and I’m like…what am I doing wrong? I got home [from a show] and I was like, ‘Why do I feel like I need to write a song?’ So I went into my room, grabbed my guitar and started writing this.”

Hunter said she “cried like a baby” as she penned the lyrics, which she now refers to as her “45 minute conversation with Jesus.” She added, “I’m just being completely honest and personal. I honestly didn’t show anybody the song until six or seven months ago. But I’m working on a project right now and thinking about the songs I wanted to be on it, and this song just means so much to me. It might be the first song I’ve ever released that I wrote 100 percent of.”

Hunter hopes that others who may be facing similar doubts will be able to relate to her song. “I think about all the little girls and social media and all the things constantly in our heads and I’m just putting a voice to it,” she explained. “I just want people to feel like they’re not alone and it’s okay and to just keep going.”

The song is a powerful reminder that everyone has doubts, but it’s important to keep going and never give up on your dreams. HunterGirl is a shining example of that, and she’s sure to inspire others with her music.

In addition to talking about her new song, Hunter also shared some updates about her upcoming project, her friendship with Noah Thompson, and her advice for future American Idol contestants.

  • She said that she’s putting together songs for a new project that she’s hoping to release soon. She’s excited for fans to hear her story from the past year.
  • She said that she’s still friends with Noah Thompson, who won her season of Idol. They keep in touch and support each other’s careers.
  • She said that her advice for future Idol contestants is to be themselves and to enjoy the experience.
  • She said that she wishes she had taken more time to appreciate the moment when she was on the show.

I’m excited to hear more from HunterGirl in the future! She’s a talented singer with a powerful message, and I’m sure she’ll continue to inspire others with her music.
