Katharine McPhee and David Foster have canceled their final two shows in Jakarta, Indonesia, after a “horrible tragedy” in their family.
McPhee took to Instagram on Friday to announce the news, saying that she and Foster “need to get back home to our family.”
“Dearest Jakarta fans, it’s with heavy heart I announce I have to miss our final two shows of our Asia run,” she wrote. “David and I have had a horrible tragedy in our family and at least one of us need to get back home to our family.”
The singer did not specify what the tragedy was, but she said that she was “so sorry” to her fans in Jakarta and that she hoped to return one day to perform for them.
Foster’s rep confirmed to Page Six that the couple is dealing with a “family emergency” and that Foster will still take to the stage on Friday and Saturday, suggesting that McPhee will travel home alone.
The news comes as a shock to fans of the couple, who have been married since 2019 and share a 1-year-old son, Rennie.
McPhee and Foster have not yet commented further on the tragedy, but they have asked for privacy at this time.
