Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez Donate $100M to Help Maui Fire Recovery

Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez are donating $100 million to help the people of Maui recover from the recent wildfires. The couple announced the donation on Friday via Instagram, saying they were “heartbroken” by the devastation caused by the fires.

The donation will be used to support immediate needs like food, water, and shelter, as well as longer-term rebuilding efforts. Bezos and Sánchez said they are committed to helping Maui “get back on its feet now and over the coming years.”

The wildfires on Maui have been the deadliest in the state’s history, killing at least 67 people. The fires have also destroyed thousands of homes and businesses.

Bezos and Sánchez are not the only celebrities who have stepped up to help with the recovery efforts. Hawaiian actor Jason Momoa has been vocal on social media about the need for donations, while Oprah Winfrey has been on the island personally, buying and distributing supplies to those in need.

The Maui Fund is a much-needed gift for a community that has been devastated by the fires. Bezos and Sánchez’s donation will help to ensure that the people of Maui have the resources they need to rebuild their lives.
