Ed Sheeran Confirms '1989 (Taylor's Version)' Is Next Re-Recorded Album, But Not 'Reputation'

Ed Sheeran has confirmed that Taylor Swift’s “1989 (Taylor’s Version)” is the next re-recorded album to be released, but he has not yet recorded a new version of their collaboration “End Game” from her sixth studio album “Reputation.”

Sheeran made the comments during an appearance on Andy Cohen’s “Deep & Shallow Podcast” on SiriusXM on Monday. He said that he would love to go and see Swift’s Eras Tour, but he is currently on tour himself and they are playing on the same dates. He said that he hopes to be able to see her show next year when she is in the UK.

Swift announced the release of “1989 (Taylor’s Version)” during her sixth and final concert in Los Angeles last week. The album will be released on October 27, exactly nine years after the original version came out.

Swift has been re-recording her first six albums since Scooter Braun acquired the rights to her music in 2019. She has already released re-recorded versions of “Fearless” (2008), “Speak Now” (2010), and “Red” (2012).

Sheeran did not say when “Reputation (Taylor’s Version)” would be released, but he did confirm that he has not yet recorded a new version of “End Game.”

Fans are excited to hear the re-recorded versions of Swift’s albums, and they are eager to see what she does with “1989 (Taylor’s Version).” The album is sure to be a hit, and it will be interesting to see how it compares to the original.
