Stevie Nicks Finds Daisy Jones & The Six 'Very Emotional', Praises Riley Keough's Portrayal

Stevie Nicks has revealed that she found the Prime Video series Daisy Jones & The Six to be “very emotional” for her, as it reminded her of her own experiences in Fleetwood Mac.

The 75-year-old singer said that she watched the show twice, and that she found Riley Keough’s portrayal of Daisy Jones to be “seamless”.

“It brought back memories that made me feel like a ghost watching my own story,” Nicks wrote on social media. “It was very emotional for me. I just wish Christine [McVie] could have seen it. She would have loved it.”

Daisy Jones & The Six is based on the 2019 novel of the same name by Taylor Jenkins Reid. The novel is loosely inspired by Fleetwood Mac, and follows the rise and fall of a fictional rock band.

Nicks said that she was inspired to write the book after watching Fleetwood Mac perform together in 1997. She was particularly struck by the performance of the song “Landslide”, which is sung by Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham.

“Stevie sang with such fragility and yet she seemed so confident and strong—and as she did, she kept looking back at Lindsey, her expression warm and intimate, but cryptic… And for one split second—truly, a slice of a moment—Lindsey put his fist under his chin and looked at Stevie as if she was a miracle,” Reid said.

Nicks said that she could relate to the characters in Daisy Jones & The Six, and that she found the show to be “very honest”.

“It’s a great story, and it’s told really well,” she said. “I’m glad that people are getting to see it.”

The show has been praised by critics and fans alike, and it has been renewed for a second season. Nicks said that she is “excited” to see what happens next in the story.

“I think it’s going to be great,” she said. “I can’t wait to see what they do.”
